The Studio

Lessons, rehearsals and recordings can be held in my music studio detached from the house where I live.  I have a Baldwin upright piano inside my house that can also be used. The studio was completely remodeled by me, my housemate and local trombonist Ron Gilchrist, and several other music friends from the empty cold garage it was when I moved in, to the warm inviting room that it is now. The room (which was originally a gun making workshop for the previous owner of the house) was transformed from the hands of artists into a beautiful music making space – what a transformation huh?!

The studio is equipped with many great features and instruments including:

  • A Pearl Export rock drum set and a large box of miscellaneous percussion instruments
  • My vast keyboard collection: Kurzweil PC2X keyboard, 1977 Mark 1 – Stage Fender Rhodes, Korg CX3 Organ Synthesizer, 1972 200A – Wurliizer Electric Piano and a Korg R3 Synthesizer
  • A nice collection of Pop/Jazz/Latin/Classical songbooks, method books, etc.
  • Wharfendale Titan 12 Active PA Speaker, Mackie ProFX12 mixer and an assortment of several professional vocal microphones, stands, etc.
  • Comfortable furniture for relaxing and listening to music
  • Electric guitar, 2 acoustic guitars and 1 backpacker guitar
  • Fender Twin Reverb Reissue Amp (typically used with the Fender Rhodes & Wurlitzer Electric Pianos)
  • All necessary cabling, power, etc. needed to hook up instruments and play through the sound system
  • PreSonus Firebox recording system into Digital Performer 6.0 on my MacBook Pro studio computer
