I've spent more than 25 years making music professionally—as a pianist, performer, songwriter, producer, arranger and recording artist.

My career has taken me from jazz clubs and recording studios to national tours, festivals and major stages, with work appearing on GRAMMY-nominated and multi-Platinum records.

I've had the opportunity to record, perform and collaborate with artists including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Allen Stone, Kesha, Black Thought, Travis Thompson, Grace Love and many others.

But teaching isn't about collecting credits.

It's about taking what I've learned from thousands of hours onstage, in studios, writing songs, producing records and collaborating with great musicians—and helping you apply those lessons to your own creative life.

I started playing piano when I was three years old.

Long before I understood music theory, jazz harmony or technique, I understood something much simpler:

Making music was fun.

That sense of discovery eventually took me through formal jazz studies at Cornish College of the Arts and into a professional career as a touring musician, recording artist, songwriter and producer.

But the principle never changed.

Technique matters. Theory matters. Discipline matters.

But they're tools—not the destination.

My goal is to help you develop the skills to hear something, understand it, express it and ultimately make music that actually feels like you.

That's the musician I want to help you become.
